A new identity, 5 years in

A new identity, 5 years in

A small change, 5 years in

This month marks 5 years of Mel Living.

When we started, there wasn’t a clear plan for what it would become. It began as a feeling, a quiet idea of home, shaped by the way we saw Nordic living: simple, functional, and calm.

Over time, that idea became something more defined.
Not just a shop, but a space people return to.
Not just objects, but things that live with you, every day, without effort.

And somewhere along the way, we realised something important.

More than objects

Mel Living was never really about what we sell.

It’s about how things feel in a home.
The light in the morning.
A table set without occasion.
Objects that don’t ask for attention, but become part of your routine.

That’s what people connected with.
And that’s what we kept coming back to.

Letting the identity follow

As the space evolved, the identity stayed mostly the same.

And for a long time, that felt right.

But after 5 years, it became clear that the way we present Mel Living should reflect more closely what it has become.

Not something new.
Just something more aligned.

So instead of changing everything, we chose to refine.

A symbol

The most visible part of that refinement is a small symbol.

Simple, quiet, and natural.

It’s not meant to stand out.
It’s meant to sit alongside everything else, the same way our objects do.

Something you notice over time.
Something that feels familiar, even if you can’t quite explain why.

Closer to what we value

This wasn’t about redesigning.

It was about refining and finding a symbol that felt right.

A Nordic tree.
Simple, natural, enduring.

A small detail that carries what we stand for.

What comes next

From now on, you’ll start seeing it across everything.

On the website.
In the shop.
In the small details.

It won’t arrive all at once.
It will appear gradually, the same way Mel Living has always grown.

5 years later

Looking back, not much has changed and at the same time, everything has.

The foundation is the same.
The feeling is the same.

This is just a way of expressing it better.
